ETHICAL DISCLAIMER

 |
It might be asked, is the information presented at Rainbowtables.net, well… ethical?
I would assert that it is both ethical and necessary!
There is little or no information presented on this site that is not already published on the internet in multiple locations. However, much of the information is published in private forums and communities that are not openly available or indexed by search engines. That means that you can’t just Google for the information. Furthermore, after the review and assessment of thousands of workstations and networks, it is apparent that most network administrators and security professionals are completely unaware of the threats that exist in the way of password cracking and decryption. And even fewer have the tools or resources to perform the types of self assessment necessary to improve network security to meet the levels of current hacking technologies. I have reviewed thousands of posts on “Hackers” boards across the internet and it is my opinion that much of the security community has entirely underestimated the capabilities of the hacker underworld. Our best attempts at network security are thwarted by a misunderstanding and an underestimation of the tools and resources available to those who would have their way with our network and the information they are intended to secure.
